Aim of the study is to characterize Sprouty proteins concerning their role in the regulation of cell proliferation and cell migration. We will elucidate the molecular basis of Sprouty function as inhibitor of RTK-mediated processes like cell proliferation and migration. These analyses will investigate how Sprouty activity is regulated, which kind of processes the Sprouty proteins interfere with, what are the proteins they interact with, what are the pathways they influence, and what is their potential to be used as an endogenous inhibitor of cell proliferation.
