Aim of this project is to investigate on a genome-wide basis the molecular alterations of MPM/OS by using modern array CGH technology on tumor specimen, primo-cell cultures and stable MPM/OS cell lines. In parallel the anti-cancer activities in vitro and in vivo of several new (targeted) anticancer drugs (mTOR-inhibitors, tyrosine kinase inhibitors etc.) are analysed against panels of cell cultures and cell lines established from patients with MPM/OS. Mechanisms underlying malignant growth ant treatment response are investigated.
Array CGH analysis revealing massive amplification of a chromosomal region on chromosome 1q comprising amongst other the SOX13 gene.
