Clinical and Experimental Oncology

PhD Program

General Information

Over the past decade the tumor specific gene expression, metabolic pathways and signal transduction has been elucidated and is now used as targets for the determination of individual cancer risk, nutritional and pharmacological tumor prevention, diagnostic procedures and cancer therapy. The PhD thesis program Clinical and Experimental Oncology cooperates with the N094 program "Malignant Diseases" and use common seminar courses. The thesis projects encompass translational and clinical projects investigating innovative approaches to cancer risk assessment, diagnosis, chemoprevention and therapy. Novel therapeutic and diagnostic procedures are evaluated in clinical studies.
