Alex is focusing on bioinformatics approaches to study host and environmental factors shaping the human microbiome. He has co-authored >100 papers, an h-index of 40, and his papers have been cited >18,000 times. Here, he will gave an overview on his work including his 2021 landmark paper in Nature genetics (Large-scale association analyses identify host factors influencing human gut microbiome composition).
