She is currently a PhD student in the research group of Thomas Bauer at the Center for Cancer Research. Their research focuses on studying the skin side effects of EGFR-inhibiting cancer therapy.
Through her findings, she successfully demonstrated the crucial role of EGFR in protecting the JAK-STAT regulated immune privilege of hair follicle stem cells. This discovery provides valuable insights into the mechanisms underlying permanent scarring hair loss. It also identifies potential therapeutic targets, such as JAK inhibitors, for treating this challenging condition.
